As a baby Nathan experienced recurrent vomiting episodes, but his parents were assured he simply had frequent stomach viruses. During one episode Nathan’s temperature dropped and he began passing bloody stools. He was rushed to the hospital but passed away before doctors were able to perform his life saving surgery.
